Being the first of its kind in this region, the SEA-PHN Conference Organising Committee would like to invite delegates to submit abstract(s) for oral (during the Free Paper Presentation sessions) and/or poster presentations. Do not miss the chance to share your experience and research with colleagues and experts in this field!

Accepted abstracts will be published as a Supplement to the Malaysian Journal of Nutrition, Volume 23, 2017. The hard copy will be distributed during the conference, whereas the electronic copy will be available for viewing on the Nutrition Society Malaysia (NSM) website: http://nutriweb.org.my/publications/mjn0022_3/default.php

There is NO CHARGE for abstract submission. However, accepted poster and oral presenters MUST register for the conference and pay the registration fee BEFORE the conference. All the poster presenters shall be present to discuss his or her poster in person with conference participants.

All abstracts must be submitted electronically via the online system.

Oral Presentation Guidelines

Your request for oral presentation will be considered by the organising committee and you will be notified by email before 13th April 2017. You should confirm your acceptance for oral presentation within one week of the date of notification. The oral presentation session will be held during the Free Paper Presentation Sessions on 16th & 17th May 2017. You will be informed of the day of the presentation.

The time allocated for oral presentation is (8+2) minutes, the “+2” minutes indicated is meant for discussion of your paper. Please note that the official language of the conference shall be English.

Poster Presentation Guidelines

Your request for poster presentation will be considered by the organising committee and you will be notified before 10th April 2017. Accepted posters will notified through a checklist on this website.

Poster presentations area is located at Function Rooms Safir I & II on Ballroom Level, Hotel Istana,Kuala Lumpur.

Your poster will be displayed from 15 May (Monday) to 17 May (Wednesday) for 3 DAYS.

Posters must be set up and dismantled according to the time given below:

Time for mounting: 15 May 2017: 7.00am – 8.30am
Time for dismantling: 17 May 2017: 4.00pm – 5.00pm

Kindly be in attendance next to your poster during the ‘poster viewing’ time indicated in the programme book to discuss your posters and for interaction with other participants.

2. Submit Abstract(s) as Follows:


Please fill up the form below to submit your abstract. The abstract deadline has been extended by two weeks. The new deadline for abstract submission is 3rd April 2017. Note: Make sure the abstract submitted is the final version as no changes will be permitted.

Each participant may submit an abstract for one oral presentation or maximum of 2 abstracts for poster presentations. The Organising Committee will decide on acceptance for all abstracts submitted by 13th April 2017. Those abstracts not accepted for oral presentation may be invited to be presented as posters.

Submission of an abstract is considered a commitment to present the abstract if it is accepted.

In the event that you are unable to attend the conference, you should inform the organising committee immediately so that the abstract(s) will not be published in the abstract book.
